Open Access and APC Policy
Agricultural Innovations provides immediate open access to published articles without subscription or reader-registration barriers.
Open access
Published articles are freely available from the date of publication so that research may be read by researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the public.
Copyright
Authors retain copyright in their articles and grant Agricultural Innovations the right of first publication. Copyright and licensing statements displayed on each article govern reuse of that article.
Licence
Journal articles identified as licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0) may be shared and adapted for any purpose, provided appropriate credit is given, a link to the licence is supplied, and changes are indicated. This statement applies to journal articles carrying that licence and does not automatically license the entire website.
Article Processing Charges
An Article Processing Charge (APC) applies only after final acceptance:
| Author category | APC |
|---|---|
| Authors from Nigeria and Africa | ₦50,000 |
| International authors | USD 50 |
- There is no submission fee.
- There is no peer-review fee.
- The APC becomes payable only after final acceptance.
- The current policy requests payment within 14 days of acceptance notification.
Editorial independence
Ability to pay an APC does not affect editorial decisions. Editors and reviewers assess manuscripts on scholarly merit and are not instructed to favour authors who will pay an APC.
Waivers and discounts
Authors may request consideration for a waiver or discount at submission by explaining their circumstances in the cover letter. Requests may be considered for student corresponding authors, researchers from low-income countries, unfunded research, or other demonstrated financial hardship.
Waiver requests are confidential and do not affect peer review or the editorial decision.
